Connect the WhatsApp Cloud API
The full path from an unverified business to an approved sending number, typically completed in two to three days.
- 1
Verify your business with Meta
Submit your legal entity name, website and business documents in Meta Business Manager. Verification usually completes in 1โ3 business days.
- 2
Create a WhatsApp Business Account
Inside WallzaOS, click Connect WhatsApp. The embedded signup creates the WABA and links it to your workspace โ no Meta developer account needed.
- 3
Add and verify a phone number
Use a number that is not active on the WhatsApp consumer app. Verify by SMS or voice call, then pick a display name.
- 4
Submit message templates
Templates are required for business-initiated messages. Add variables, buttons and media, then submit โ approval is usually under an hour.
- 5
Set your quality and messaging tier
New numbers start at 250 conversations a day. Keep quality green and the tier upgrades automatically to 1K, 10K and unlimited.
Common issues and fixes
- Template rejected
- Almost always promotional wording in a UTILITY template or a missing variable example. Re-submit under MARKETING with sample values filled in.
- Messages sent but not delivered
- The recipient opted out, the number is inactive on WhatsApp, or you are outside the 24-hour window without an approved template.
- Quality rating dropped to red
- Too many blocks or reports. Pause broadcasts for 48 hours, tighten your audience filters and re-warm with utility messages only.
- Webhook events not arriving
- Check the endpoint returns 2xx within 5 seconds. WallzaOS retries with exponential backoff for 24 hours, then disables the endpoint.
- AI replies are off-topic
- Re-index your knowledge base and tighten guardrails so the assistant answers only from approved sources, then hand off to a human on low confidence.
Terms you will meet
- WABA
- WhatsApp Business Account โ the Meta object that owns your numbers, templates and quality rating.
- 24-hour window
- After a customer messages you, replies are free-form for 24 hours. Outside it you must use an approved template.
- Conversation
- A 24-hour billing unit on WhatsApp, categorised as marketing, utility, authentication or service.
- BSP
- Business Solution Provider โ the Meta-approved partner that routes your messages. WallzaOS runs on Cloud API directly.
- Opt-in
- Documented consent to message a contact. Required by Meta policy and stored against every contact in WallzaOS.
